Eventbrite Named to Steering Committee of the Fix The Tix Coalition Founded by NIVA

Eventbrite Helps Lead 30+ Member Coalition to Empower Fans, Enhance Transparency, and Foster Fairness in Ticketing Through Legislation

Eventbrite, a global events marketplace, today was named to the Fix the Tix coalition’s steering committee. The Fix the Tix collective was formed with more than 30 prominent entertainment organizations, including the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA), dedicated to safeguarding fans from price gouging and deceptive ticketing practices.  As a driving member of the Fix the Tix coalition, Eventbrite is taking a leading role in helping advocate for a safe and reliable ticket-purchasing experience for consumers.

Eventbrite, along with NIVA and its Fix the Tix coalition members, form a powerful alliance that represents a united front committed to enhancing the ticketing experience for fans, event organizers, and artists. The coalition advocates for ticketing policies that prioritize the best interests of fans, and guards against speculative tickets, predatory resales, deceptive practices, illegal BOTS, and exorbitant price gouging which should have no place in the live event ecosystem.

“Eventbrite was founded with a mission to bring the world together through live experiences, and this mission continues to be at the core of everything we do,” said Julia Hartz, Eventbrite Co-Founder and CEO. “We are proud to partner with NIVA and others in leading Fix the Tix. Together, we strive to empower event-goers with honest, transparent, and reliable ticket-purchasing experiences, helping create a more connected world.”

“The fight to protect fans from predatory resellers through national comprehensive ticketing reform will take every part of the live entertainment sector advocating for a better way,” said Stephen Parker, NIVA Executive Director. “Fix the Tix is able to educate Congress and mobilize communities behind ticketing reform because of Eventbrite’s thought leadership and partnership. We are grateful they are working to lead this movement toward a ticketing experience that prioritizes the needs of fans and artists.”

Eventbrite’s commitment to honest, transparent, and reliable ticketing aligns with NIVA’s mission and Fix the Tix’s goal of protecting fans from unscrupulous practices. Eventbrite’s ticketing reform leadership remains committed to amplifying the voices of event organizers and event attendees and giving them a seat at the policymaking table, while the company delivers on its mission to bring the world together through live experiences.
