Take payments at your event with PayPal Here and Eventbrite Organizer

Use your PayPal Here device to take credit card payments at your event. First, buy a device from PayPal. Then connect the PayPal Here reader in your app settings. PayPal Here works with Eventbrite Payment Processing, so you won't need a PayPal account.

UPDATE: PayPal has indicated that support for PayPal Here devices will be ending in June 2024. Eventbrite plans to offer a replacement service for seamless payments early next year.

Check this before you start.
1. Log into the Eventbrite Organizer app.
2. Go to your app settings.
3. Add your card reader.
4. Sell tickets and choose “Credit”.

☑️ You have the latest version of Eventbrite Organizer on iOS (14.0 and up) or Android (5.0 and up).

☑️ Your event is in the United States, the currency is USD, and it uses the default payment processor, Eventbrite Payment Processing.

☑️ You can buy a PayPal Here card reader from PayPal. If you have any issues purchasing a card reader, contact PayPal. Include “Eventbrite”, your event name, business name, email, and phone number in your request.

☑️ Eventbrite Organizer is compatible with chip and tap and chip and swiper readers. Eventbrite Organizer is not compatible with PayPal Zettle.

☑️ You don't need a PayPal account to use this device with the Eventbrite Organizer app.

☑️ Your tickets are on sale "at the door" or "everywhere".

1. Log into the Eventbrite Organizer app.

After logging in, select an event.

2. Go to your app settings.

Find the settings by selecting the icon at the top left. Then tap Settings (iOS) or Device settings (Android).

3. Add your card reader.

For iOS users:

Select "Payment methods".
Select "Add new card reader".
Choose "PayPal Here".
Select your card reader.

For Android users:

Select "Payment methods".
Select "Add new card reader".
Tap "PayPal Here".
Tap "Connect card reader", then "Connect device".
Select your card reader.

If you don't see your reader:

Confirm your PayPal Here reader is switched on and ready to be paired.
Make sure your iOS/Android device's bluetooth is turned on.

You can't connect multiple PayPal Here readers to one device (or multiple devices to one reader).

TIP: If you don’t see the option to “Add new card reader”, delete and reinstall the Organizer App.

4. Sell tickets and choose “Credit”.

To sell tickets with Eventbrite Organizer:

Go to Sell and create an order.
Choose the payment method, Credit.
Use the PayPal Here reader to collect payment.
Complete the order as normal.
