Joshua M. Bernstein

Joshua M. Bernstein is a beer, spirits, food, and travel journalist and the fast-typing author of Brewed Awakening, The Complete Beer Course, Complete IPA, Homebrew World, and Drink Better Beer (all Union Square & Co.). But that’s not all! Over the last two decades, his work has appeared regularly in newspapers, magazines, and websites, including The New York Times, Men’s Journal, Food & Wine, New York, Wine Enthusiast, and Imbibe, where, as contributing editor, he oversees beer coverage. He talks about beer on the radio, podcasts, and TV a bunch. On days both rainy and sunny, you’ll probably find Bernstein biking around New York City in search of delicious dumplings and drinks, plus taking pictures of street art aplenty. If it’s summer, though, he’s probably boogie-boarding at Rockaway Beach and tending to his backyard garden. He lives with his wife in Brooklyn, surrounded by way too many plants and their daughter, Violet. He’s pretty good at keeping things alive and interesting.
