The Dead Man's Luau is a Halloween event with a shipwrecked, half-human, half-crustacean theme. Proceeds will benefit Surfer's Healing, an organization dedicated to teaching surfing to children with disabilities.

Storybook Maze Book Bus Adventure

SELECTION PROCESS
A total of 25 finalists were selected to participate in the Accelerator Program.

From this group, five winners will be awarded $20K and personalized coaching from our industry leader judges. Two winners are decided by a public vote, and three winners are hand-picked by our judges.

Who should apply?

If you’ve demonstrated an ability to bring people together online and are looking to harness the power of in-person gathering, we want to hear from you. We’re looking for innovators and trendsetters who are passionate about building events to create or nurture a community.

Application Criteria

To apply, you should be:

  • An independent contractor, not representing a corporation (ex: a sole proprietor, small business with <10 employees, or a 501(c)(3) organization).

  • Pitching a brand new event series in food & beverage, hospitality, sports, fitness, wellness, music and live entertainment, or related industry.

  • Hosting a paid, ticketed event.

  • Based in the United States, pitching an event series taking place within the US.

  • 18 years of age or older.

Evaluation Criteria

As we choose our finalists, we’ll evaluate event concepts based on the following criteria:

Cultivating Community

  • Serves a specific community in the outlined categories (live entertainment including music, wellness or sports, and food + beverage)

  • Demonstrated ability to bring people together online via virtual events, or through digital content creation

Creativity

Presents a new, unique, or innovative approach to:

  • Event concept or format

  • Participation or accessibility

  • Bringing communities together

Feasibility

  • Defined project plan and goals

  • Clear opportunity for repetition or iteration

  • Appropriate budget outline

Submissions Guidelines

To submit your application, fill out the application by clicking “Apply Now” and be ready to provide the following:

  • Answer all questions in the form clearly and in detail

  • Provide a budget outline for how you will invest the $20,000

  • Include a headshot to be used on our voting page if you are selected as a finalist

  • Optional: Submit a short video showing us who you are, who your community is, and how you plan to bring them together with an impactful event
