Can free events be part of GTFO & Eat Week?
We are not taking submissions for free events at this time.

Do I need to create a new event to be part of this?
No, as long as it’s a paid food and beverage-related event that takes place from July 14–23 in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Washington or London, it doesn’t matter if it’s a new event, an old event, or a recurring event.

Can I submit multiple events for GTFO & Eat Week?
Yes, we encourage you to submit as many events as you’d like, provided that they are paid food and beverage-related events that take place from July 14–23 in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Washington or London. You can even easily set up the “GTFO” promo code for multiple events with our revamped promo code feature.

Is there a deadline for submitting events?
You can submit an event for consideration until Wednesday, July 12. However, if you’d like to be included in Eventbrite’s GTFO & Eat Week promotional campaign, you’ll need to do this no later than June 30th. The campaign begins June 14, so we recommend you submit your event(s) as early as possible.

How do I set up a promo code?
Setting up a promo code is easy. Go to “manage my events” and select “marketing.” Select “promo codes,” then “create discount code.”  Choose “single code” and edit your code settings.

Under “code name” add “GTFO.” This is the code attendees will use to unlock discounted pricing. For “discount amount,” set to a fixed amount or percentage to be taken off of the full price of your ticket (for Eat Week, we suggest 10%). You can choose to limit the number of codes, and set a date range for how long the code is active (Eat Week runs through July 23).

You can then choose to apply this code to all tickets across all your events, or you can check off select ticket types and select events. Make sure to save your code. You can then share it with attendees via an auto-generated social media post or message that automatically applies the code to their order.

What is GTFO?
GTFO is a cheeky acronym used in pop culture today. It’s Eventbrite’s way of using light-hearted humor to encourage consumers to leave their post-pandemic routine behind and start getting out again with their friends and community IRL.

I love GTFO, how can I incorporate it into my event messaging?
Feel free to use GTFO as a way to encourage your audience to break from their routines and attend your event! You can include it your event descriptions, promotional emails and social posts, and even make up your own headlines that relate to your event (i.e. “Your last ‘home-cooked’ meal was entirely air fried. GTFO and try this new sushi-making class!”).

If needed, here’s some language you can use as an intro: GTFO is meant as a call to action for those who are stuck in a post-pandemic rut and are looking to get out more.

This doesn’t feel appropriate to my events, do I have to use GTFO when promoting my event?
GTFO will not appear on your event listing page nor in any of your promotional materials unless you decide to include it yourself. For GTFO & Eat Week, you will need to enable a “GTFO” promo code.
